  • That’s high level trolling right? Do you really think that’s an enjoyable watch?

Just watched the first episode. Almost every scene has glitches. Random useless scenes, like the one at the airport “you are in the woman’s lounge” or something like that. The characters change their voices sometimes, the voices have no vocal range. The music is unbearable annoying. It’s not even that hard to learn how to add music to a video properly. The story… Well I don’t know. Maybe it gets better.

Please look how videos or movies are created, in every camera angle should be a meaning. Every sound, every music is set to create emotions. The actors, the scenery, everything is set up just for a small scene. That’s hard work and art. I don’t know what you expected but I’m sorry but that’s not a movie I would show to anyone.

  • In short: works for people already breaking out of the mainstream bubble. Not for regular users.

In long: That’s not really how modern mainstream social network operate. There’s always a feed of recommendations based on the “interests” of the user. That’s how normal people navigate through the social network. That’s how the social media bubbles are created. If you control the feeds, you control what people are seeing. If you control what people are seeing you control what they believe.

That control mechanism does not work for everyone. For some it works partially or by transitive effects like parents or friends that influence the person.

The network effect is also an interesting topic. That prevents people from fluidly switching social media networks. Or messengers. It is uncomfortable if you have to use more than one platform to connect with your friends. So you switch to the platform that everyone around you uses. Look at discord right now. Almost everyone hates the current age verification plans an policy. Will discord loose some users? Sure. Will the platform die? Not in the next 3-4 years.

  • Yeah good luck with not getting caught. Climbing a ladder an trying to fiddle with a cable on a foreign house.

Oorrr sitting in a van around the corner and hacking the radio signal…

Jup there is no question (for me) what is more secure in the long run. And that’s the important question when choosing home automation equipment. In my opinion. Of course wifi/ZigBee etc is easier to setup (if you don’t build the house from scratch)

  • Hmm no,

    • first oft all: noise. Wind turbines have moving parts, that attached to a building or even worse attached to a balcony creates noise in the whole building. Imagine the rattling of 5-6 ~10 year old, bad maintained, wind turbines.
    • Second: the energy output is rather low. A 1,2KW turbine is about 1.2m/3.9feet big. That’s in spherical, cause it has to be able to rotate by wind direction.
    • Third: balconies are preferred to not have wind, but sun.
    • And last but not least: blades. Every windturbine form factor has (fast) moving blades. If it’s reachable someone is going to stick a finger in it.

If you’re living more suburban and have a windy detached place to setup a small windturbine that’s an option. On the garage or shed for example.
