If it’s not a war but just a special pettiness operation, the Geneva conventions don’t hold.

Technology@lemmy.world•I spent a year on Linux and forgot to miss WindowsEnglish
63·18 days agoThe trick is to learn to absolutely despise Windows before doing the switch, then everytime something breaks on Linux you reminisce about the olden days and decide that typing two or three commands in the terminal isn’t so bad afterall.
I feel like the two slices at the top were divided poorly. The extension of the right one makes it difficult to handle, it should have been part of the left slice. Otherwise the slices feel balanced and slicey, although I am not quite sure with the bottom ones. Overall this gives a score of at most 6/8, please relay this to your dad and don’t forget posting his next attempt, ideally without a cut off part for a more reliable evaluation.
And even taken all that aside, he shot someone that pointed a gun at him and basically said “I am going to shoot you now”. Clearly Han is in the right here for defending himself.
I never thought about it and expected the thin white wafers that immediately dissolve into nothingness the moment they touch saliva to be the standard everywhere. I would have loved some proper wheat bread.

World News@lemmy.world•Most people believe climate change primarily affects othersEnglish
41·21 days agoOh I’m by no means trying to imply that it’s not necessary to enact massive changes in order to fight climate change, I think it’s one of the most important things to do right now.

World News@lemmy.world•Most people believe climate change primarily affects othersEnglish
446·21 days agoI mean it’s true, it will affect me less than most people simply for the fact that I live in a first world country with moderate climate. That doesn’t mean it won’t affect me, and even if it wasn’t affecting me at all I wouldn’t want other people to suffer from climate change.

19·1 month agoThe point is very obvious, the people involved in the conspiracy act way less careful than one would expect, and if all of it was a movie, people would call the plot unrealistic and stupid

5·2 months agoCurious given how Putin publicly considers feminism/LGBT rights/general progressivism as western weakness and degeneracy, you think he’s support feminism in the West if it’s soooo bad for us

Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft seemingly just revealed that OpenAI lost $11.5B last quarterEnglish
1·3 months agoI never said your previous statement was incorrect, and I never said investing is a bad idea. I was specifically talking about investing in overinflated companies. I am myself buying diversified ETF shares every month and will continue to do so.

Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft seemingly just revealed that OpenAI lost $11.5B last quarterEnglish
2·3 months agoSure, if you’ve invested early that’s the case. If you invest now and there’s a crash in three month, you’re likely screwed. But maybe a crash happens in a couple years or not at all for some unforeseen reason and you might be alright, it’s basically impossible to know. The point is, the worth of all these tech companies is severely overinflated and trying to make money off of their stocks is definitely possible but risky. If you’re aware of that, go right ahead.

Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft seemingly just revealed that OpenAI lost $11.5B last quarterEnglish
182·3 months agoThis will no doubt keep working for a while, but eventually the bubble will burst. Without selling stocks just before that, chances are you’ll lose money, and since apparently a Nazi salute isn’t enough to crash a company nowadays, this shit is completely unpredictable.

And even if it wasn’t, when the SS is what first comes to mind when thinking “who is worse than ICE?”, that’s already enough of a problem on its own.
