My email is the only account that isn’t in my password manager. It is by far the most important account because basically all of my other passwords can be changed if someone has my email. My password manager password and my email password are the only 2 I have to remember, and they are both very strong passwords. Remembering 2 strong passwords isn’t much harder than remembering 1 to me.

politics @lemmy.world•There’s a danger that the US supreme court, not voters, picks the next president English
11·1 year agoThis is why we need as many people as possible to vote early and or by mail! My state, Texas, doesn’t allow mail-in voting, but voting early takes so much less time and it’s harder for any sort of shenanigans since it is so many more days.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What ridiculous history fact is your favorite?English
9·2 years agoI find it fascinating that electricity is fast enough that this is a thing. You would never get this wrong with water, and if you did things wouldn’t work right, but electricity is basically instant.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Which adaptation do you think has surpassed its source material in quality?English
91·2 years agoI’d rather the five released ASOIAF stay as they are, perpetually unfinished than anything close to the hatchet job that was the GoT show ever be released in book. For me, sometimes just finishing isn’t enough. The books > than the show 10,000 times.

12·2 years agoThere is a problem of lag. By the time temperatures are high enough to force the economy to stop, the amount of CO2 will be sufficient to continue pushing the temperature up considerably.

News@lemmy.world•Biden Threatens to Veto Bill That Would Help Israel but Not UkraineEnglish
17·2 years agoAlso Gaza is the size of basically just one neighborhood inside of Kiev alone. The scale of two the conflicts are so massively different. Many Americans I’ve discussed this with have no idea how much bigger Ukraine is.

10·2 years agoI think all you need to know about this guy is the Vatican asked him to resign a few days ago and he said no. You do not say to no to that sort of thing! He absolutely knew they would remove him and instead of going quietly he said no to make it a big thing. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him running for office, or starting his own break off sect of “true Catholics” soon. Good riddance.

World News@lemmy.world•Ukrainian government discovers theft of foreign aidEnglish
13·2 years agoReminds me of the movie Lord of War with Nicholas Cage. Ukraine has a history of disappearing weapons going back to the fall of the Soviet Union. It’s a hard culture to reverse quickly.

Apple@lemmy.world•Jon Stewart’s Apple TV Plus show ends, reportedly over coverage of AI and ChinaEnglish
93·2 years agoThis is disappointing of Apple. You hire someone like Jon Stewart and you have to expect him to do hard hitting journalism! Apple is one of the biggest companies in the whole world, they can afford to support their journalists. I’m sure HBO has gone to bat for John Oliver for worse.

World News@lemmy.world•Isreal's Security cabinet approves declaration of warEnglish
51·2 years agoWe don’t get many declarations of war these days. Usually they are just special military actions, or security operations, or something like that. What makes this different?

This one was from New Mexico though.
