  • I’ve had the Sennheiser 599s (Open Back) for a long time now. I’ve always thought they were quite comfort. My ears tend to get sore if I wear tighter headphones or if a pit puts pressure in an odd spot it hurts. So these Sennheisers seem to have gotten the fit just right for me at least. They have a closed back version (it might be the 598s). Sound is also great, full range. I think the base is on the weaker side but that doesn’t matter much for me as I use them for video and audiobook/podcasting. You can always find Sennheisers on sale online.

I’m also a huge fan of my Sony wh1000xm3. Holds a charge for a long time (as long as you remember to turn them off when not using them.) Bluetooth connection works through walls and across my yard. Blocks a lot of noise. But I know some snobs aren’t into it’s popularity.

  • Just one cookbook is my go to. I take tidbits from recipes to mix I not o my recipes for Miso Ramen / Stock and trying new Asian dishes I just learn about.

Bon Apetit for variations on recipes. I use the cooked butter Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe lost from here. I used to grab Brad Leone recipe sheet before me busted out (get his cookbook if you can.)

Budget Bytes for when you want to make meals for an entire week or empty your pantry.

  • Is this strictly an edible gardening matrix? Right off the bat I noticed some commercial landscaping plants not included (even Amelanchier arborea not on there). I’m a landscape designer and for those looking at adding color and structure into their gardening repertoire, I’d be interested in adding some categories for say regional nursery accessibility or brands for types of plants. Example Midwest you have proven winners(everyone can access), christiansens, cottage gardens, Monrovia (everyone can access), Weekes, David Austin (everyone can access), etc.

Could increase usability but also might make it too complex. Food for thought.

  • Thyme. Get a couple 4” pots and in a year you will have %300 growth. I have a creeping thyme , lemon thyme, and a mystery larger leafed thyme growing in large pots and though some of my beds in Michigan. Does really well in full sun. Doesn’t mind part shade. Animals don’t touch it because of the heavy scent. I’ve used it between flagstones in paths (Landscape Designer) and in Texas have seen it used for light walking traffic.

Over winter pay leaves stay on and get a dark green/reddish hue. They aren’t evergreen but without agitation tend to keep their leaves on. After awhile the stems tend to build up and create a low thicket like structure.

Other options are spreading sedums like Angelina mixed with other ground covers like creeping Jenny, wandering jew, wild violas/violets, frog fruit. My personally favorites in Texas were native sedge grasses (you mow them once a year to spread the seed tips.) Some great Sedge growers/researchers in Oklahoma region.

If you don’t go with an evergreen type plant, people tend to be concerned about tracking mud in over winter and early spring. Try to mix several ground cover plants in (violas and violets are winter growers in the south, sedge grows year long, some ground covers are fast spring growers. Mix and match where you can.)

  • It’s fine for now. But I very much would prefer a general gaming community for major topics that anybody familiar or not with games can discuss, but also will need more specific communities for discussing:

PCGaming (including what components are a steal or required theses days, games that are only on Pc or to be ported, etc)

SteamDeck (just coming out last year it has daily information that needs to be passed around to users) l

TableTopgames (convention talk, deals, reissues of old games making comebacks, what games for party sizes, best snacks, etc).

And many more communities that aren’t just for me.

All of these communities end up getting lost in a larger group like Gaming. Cross posting is not a symptom of having too many communities. It is a symptom of moderating gone wrong and (for reddits case) karma farming.

  • This is speculation but:

Higher education is typically liberal leaning. Liberals tend to be less religious and far more free thinking.

Conservatives are far more religious and illiterate/less educated. Conservatism as it is now is a minority to progressive ideologies (frequently outvoted in populist polls).

To get more power they need more religious and less educated voters to sway with propaganda/media talking heads. Higher ups are certainly pushing the narrative of private education (run by unlicensed teachers; teaching selective conservative values in textbooks) and it’s parroted by every republican voter and their mothers.

An uneducated voter base will equally vote against their own interest. They just don’t know any better. I’ve seen relatives (grandma with Native American heritage vote republican; anti women’s rights/anti Native American rights/anti social programs) vote to harm themselves because fox told them to. Insanity.
