The real horror is that the extra portion ends up on my plate and I still somehow manage to finish all of it!

2·3 years agoI was under the impression that forefoot striking is actually more efficient as the body is continually in a “forward falling” position, your legs do not land angled in front of you requiring your knees to absorb the shock, and you better utilize the elastic potential of your leg’s tendons.
Don’t a lot of marathon runners forefoot strike? Seems like they’re athletes that would be looking for the most efficient running techniques.
Zuck does already have all that Sweet Baby Ray’s!

3·3 years agoI’ve been experimenting with different cheeses in my stovetop mac and to be honest, America/cheddar is still the best combo I’ve found. Was disappointed when a batch of smoked Gouda was still good, but not as good as the sauce made from “milk-product” slices and any old block of mild cheddar.

12·3 years agoI miss seeing policies from other libertarians like this!
So fucking sick of the ancaps and how most people view libertarians as just an extension of conservatives that want small government now. They pretty much took over r/libertarian the last few years and pushed out the “socialist” libertarians.

Edit: this is the 2nd time I’ve seen the phrase “free as in free beer” today and decided to look it up because I hadn’t really taken notice of it before. I retract my statement and apologize. You used it perfectly and TIL, so thank you.
That was always my understanding of it.
That’s just like, your opinion man!

5·3 years agoI never knew about Linear Mouse, thank you so much!!! I fucking hate how Apple ties scroll direction on mice/touchpad and no, “natural” scroll direction is not natural on a standard mouse Apple.
5 Guys is also twice the price and I would argue that their burgers aren’t actually better than In-n-Out’s. I like thousand island sauce tho, so I’m a bit biased.
Totally agree with you about the Cajun fries, they completely blow away In-n-Out’s fries but their fries set a pretty low bar imo.
I thought it was when an article was posted, nobody bothered to read it and then went straight to the comments with their opinions on the subject.

You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK: Flossing your teeth is only uncomfortable when your gums are unhealthyEnglish
3·3 years agoWell, clearly you should be flossing more if you bleed like that. I’ve used ultrasonic toothbrushes for over a decade and still ended up with cavities starting in-between my teeth because of my lack of flossing.
Something that helped me start flossing regularly was buying the really large spools of the better quality floss and a reusable dispenser. It’s a lot easier to make a habit of something when you don’t run out of it on the regular.

People, in general, need to be more perceptive and aware of their surroundings.
