I grew such hatred for this man in the past years I wish he would just ruin himself and not hear a delusional thing from him ever again.

I agree. Of all the social media platforms I’ve used, Linkedin is the closest to an insane asylum I could get.

Hungary is also dependent on EU money, Turkey is not.

I’ll be more than happy for more people to migrate to linux (or mac, but many people just can’t afford it) so MS doesn’t have such a monopoly on the OS space.

And some will probably give Linux a try. I only stopped pirating Windows because it got free, but I have no intention to pay a subscription to be able to use my fucking PC.
Increasing the echo chambers of conspiracy theorists, extremist and with that influencing things like elections seems quite the impact to me. All these mega corporations could’ve tried to limit these things, but probably that would’ve looked bad on their balance sheets.
Add to this the insane amount of data harvesting they do on their users and in general just making every damn platform worse from year to year while only looking for ever more profits.
Increasing “value” for shareholders in spite of user experience should be a reason to be sent to the guillotine.
In al seriousness now, being profitable is ok, but these companies try to be ever more profitable while not giving a flying fuck about the impact they have.

And if everyone still jumps ship from lemmy/kbin/whatever to their proprietary platform then the project was doomed from the beginning. I find kBin really good for such a new product (can’t speak for mod tools) and I can’t imagine many features that might make Threads preferable.

My feeling also. I really doubt so many people were eager to create an account and engage on a totally new and untested platform that has nothing novel really.

True, but if many of the content creators are among the ones who left then it will have a sizeable effect at least in the short term. Already some subreddits are unrecognisable (many in a funny way).

Am I not reading the numbers right or Reddit lost the most traffic of them? I wouldn’t exactly call it insignificant (although it’s not that much either)

Another downside for non native English speakers is that there seems to be relatively few foreign languages books. I could barely find anything in Romanian.

It’s been in development a lot less than Lemmy. By how things look right now I’m preffering kBin over Lemmy.

I’m not sure how the language setting works when replying but afaik just leave it on english and everything should be fine. I’m sure there are tools for windows to automagically detect text in photos, maybe even Google has something to offer.

Not sure how you do this, but one way to speedup things is for example using something like iOS’ scan text from image feature. Of course, it needs some additional formatting but at least you don’t have to type all of the text.
On the flipside, atm Edge seems to be the better Chromium choice (if you don’t have a Microsoft hate boner).

This shall ameliorate once people start tagging NSFW properly and once people are banned for not respecting it I thing.

They really want to fuck around GDPR? Are they really Musk level morons?
Indeed, but I find the system tray a bit lackluster as some apps don’t appear in it.
