World News@lemmy.ml•China to Achieve its 2030 Installed Clean Energy Target in July 2024
3·2 years agoIt will be less efficient, yes. But it is still a net positive. If it is cheaper to build it there, you can just add more power to compensate for that loss in efficiency.
It will not be a 100% loss. For reference: the power loss of the transmission in the US is on average 5%. Let’s say it is double that, it is still very little in the grand scheme.
feddit.de is in this error state since quite a while now (over a month). The web interface does not work anymore, but connecting through an app still works (I use voyager for example). Most people have migrated away from feddit.de to feddit.org. I will do the same at some point, I just didn’t have the time yet.
Are you using the web player or the iOS app? There is the official ABS app or Plappa as a third party app.
This is, in fact, the album cover of the single „BIER“ by Drunken Masters

Apple@lemmy.world•After initially rejecting it, Apple has approved the first PC emulator for iOS

Technology@lemmy.ml•Lithium metal battery with over 500 Wh/kg developed
3·2 years agoMainly for cheaper applications which are not as weight (and size) sensitive. One example is entry level EVs or home energy storage.

Apple@lemmy.world•After initially rejecting it, Apple has approved the first PC emulator for iOS
6·2 years agoThis emulator, without JIT, struggles to run windows XP. Let alone anything newer than that.
So no Half Life Alyx anytime soon. Maybe the original Half Life.

Apple@lemmy.world•After initially rejecting it, Apple has approved the first PC emulator for iOS
151·2 years agoTo be fair: they didn’t start going this direction voluntarily, which I really hate.
They did not recognize that these things (like USB-C, alternate AppStores (and in Extension allowing emulation as people would more likely to jump on the other AppStores without it), …) would be helpful for them…

WhatsApp is the same as texting in this regard.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Android users, what's stopping you from switching to an iPhone?
1·2 years agoTo be honest: they didn’t. They were perfectly clear in their announcement that they are not the first to do it.
Did you report it? Maybe no one noticed yet.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Android users, what's stopping you from switching to an iPhone?
6·2 years agoIt got a lot better. Now (or I should say, in a few months) you can place icons wherever you want on the homescreen.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Google Maps tests new pop-up ads that give you an unnecessary detourEnglish
1·2 years agoI think it does, yes. At least it does support CarPlay on iOS, so I guess the functionality on Android is also there.

Apple@lemmy.world•Is it possible to replace the wifi card on a Macbook pro 11,2 (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)? If so, are there any compatible wifi cards with open source drivers for Linux?
1·2 years agoTry aliexpress. Most of the time they have an adapter so you can use a standard network card in a MacBook
Yes, pizza and burgers and stuff, sure. But usually not for donuts.
Start with more basic troubleshooting:
Mark out 100mm length on the filament, tell the printer to extrude 100mm and see if it did. If not, remove the hotend and try again. If it did now, you have a problem with your hotend.
If it worked both times, your slicer might be setup wrong.

For opensource maps, it will be open street map. If it is outdated for you area, open a few issues, add a few things yourself, and you will notice that others will join to help.
