Where I live tap water is great for drinking but I only drink water from the kitchen tap, it’s the same water in the same pipes but in my mind it’s very different.

Does anyone else have weird ‘rules’?

There is some logic to this one, but its generally outdated. In the past houses would often have a cold water tank in the loft that was filled by the mains, the kitchen tap was directly fed by the mains but your bathroom tap would be fed from this water tank. These loft water tanks were frequently open, if they did have a lid it would be a sheet the homeowner stuck over the top.

I remember hearing a story where a dead body was found in one of those loft water tanks on top of a hotel or something, and they only found it because the water started getting funny

My bathroom tap tastes odd compared to my kitchen tap. I’ve been ignoring it (I can’t afford to look into it) and just getting water from my kitchen.
