As part of the fallout over the Saturday shooting of 37-year-old Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, Donald Trump held a two-hour Monday night meeting with DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, her de facto chief of staff Corey Lewandowski and other key members of his administration.
According to MS NOW’s Jonathan Lemire, who was not invited was as notable as who participated.
With the White House reeling and the Department of Homeland Security facing heightened scrutiny after two killings of innocent bystanders in less than three weeks, the president is reportedly “recalibrating” how his administration is managing its anti-immigrant roundups and media strategy.
According to the New York Times, “The meeting came after Ms. Noem requested to see the president, the people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss a private meeting.”
Invited to hear Noem and Lewandowski was White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, press secretary Karoline Leavitt and Steven Cheung, Trump’s communications director.
With the future direction of DHS being under discussion, Lemire raised an eyebrow that Stephen Miller, the architect of Trump’s immigration purge, was excluded.
Addressing the Trump ICE turmoil, Lemire told the “Morning Joe” panel, “We saw [Border Patrol Commander Gregory] Bovino being moved out — The Atlantic is reporting that even he’s soon to retire. And then we had Secretary Noem and Corey Lewandowski in this meeting at the White House yesterday — Stephen Miller, not part of it, interestingly enough.”
“And we’re told that their job is safe for now, but it’s very clear there’s at least a little bit of a de-escalation from Minnesota as the president and his team see poll numbers and realize this is not going well for them,” he added.
Jail.
… as the president and his team see poll numbers and realize this is not going well for them,” he added.
This shit is what sickens me to my core. The WH isn’t doing anything about the murders because they’re murders. They’re doing it because his poll numbers are down.
It’s like a fucking serial killer is running America.
Turns out having a former reality TV star and failed business person as a president might not be the best idea.
Like?
Also, Trump’s not running America. He just sits on the throne and the people that got him elected (who made their fortunes off of the serial killer industry) guide his hand when it’s his turn to move a piece on the chess board.
The leader of the “free” world is murdering protestors in the U.S. while criticizing the Iranian government for murdering protestors. Not just because he’s really that fucking dumb, because his own actions signal to other leaders the behavior that’s acceptable.
The U.S. is intentionally enabling and emboldening Iran as a pretext for their future intervention/invasion.
They’re probably about to clean house and get rid of the most vocal and obnoxious members of the administration to show how “serious” they’re taking this. Maybe they’ll even impeach Trump this time before they “officially” intervene in Iran, but replacing the hand that moves the pieces with team Vance/Rubio really doesn’t make a difference.
I agree that it sucks our federal leadership doesn’t care about the morality of their actions as much as the optics. But sometimes you have to hit them where they’ll feel it to get results. If bad polling is what it takes, then I’m on board.
Demented sociopathic rapist and pathological liar, but, yeah.
Bad news for him is that his polling numbers have been in the negative for just about his entire second term in office

her de facto chief of staff Corey Lewandowski
They can’t print “boyfriend” because it’s so gross.
Also probably bc he’s not really her boyfriend, he just fucks her and also creeps on other women he seems to view more as property than autonomous human beings, and then uses Noem like a hand puppet that he controls while hiding in the shadows.
Not to mention Noem is still legally married 🙃
Idk if you read the full article about him harassing that lady a few years ago after he told her he murdered 2 people (I guess bc he thought he was flirting?), but it is a very disturbing read. He does not like to take no for an answer and even when the woman tried to get other members of the GOP who witnessed it to help her, they apologized on his behalf for his behavior, but wouldn’t actually stop him and said he does this all the time… 🤮
It is a very disturbing peak into the GOP underbelly to say the least. And keep in mind he was doing all of this to the wife of a relatively wealthy donor, and continued to grope her in front of her sister and step son even after she tried to escape by running away from him… Imagine how he behaves and treats normal people just jfc…
Sounds sadly believable. That guy’s like crusty scum on top of weak shit.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, her de facto chief of staff Corey Lewandowski and other key members of his administration.
… You mean the guy she’s been fucking for several years has been her default chief of staff this whole time… Kinda seems like that should have been a bigger deal when discussing Noem’s behavior over the last year, considering this psycho was coaching her behind the scenes, but nobody seems to know what the fuck is actually going on right now and rules don’t matter so 🤷♀️
With the future direction of DHS being under discussion, Lemire raised an eyebrow that Stephen Miller, the architect of Trump’s immigration purge, was excluded.
I mean Minister of Propaganda was always a voluntary role he took on. This seems like a meeting meant to ask “Why the fuck have we been involving Stephen Miller in this and giving him so much control when he doesn’t even have a role in DHS?”
Trump’s answer is most likely “I don’t know why you did that. DHS is your department.”
Invited to hear Noem and Lewandowski was White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, press secretary Karoline Leavitt and Steven Cheung, Trump’s communications director.
So - the person paid to pay attention while Trump takes naps, and two people running the White House spin machine. Meaning that absolutely nothing is going to change except their PR.
Don’t be so pessimistic! They might introduce some new characters for season 2. Or should we consider year 2 of this term just part 2/ (?) for season 2 of Trump? Or should we consider the entire Trump presidency as part of the larger Oligarchy in America series? I guess it depends on if you include the entire mythology starting from day 1 of Reagan? Or if you actually acknowledge that’s just part of Oligarchy the Next Generation, and you’re including it within the larger contexts of the civil war and the declaration of Independence being signed by slave holders? Or this land already being inhabited by natives when Europeans first arrive here?
Idk maybe I’m being greedy, but it would be nice if we could just give real democracy a chance.
At least for shits and giggles, before we tear down all the things that wealthy Oligarchs have been fighting us on since signing their names to a piece of paper claiming they believed in the values of a country built by all the marginalized people they exploited and continue to exploit to maintain their status in the heirarchy they created.
Maybe we could just try actually putting control of those values in the hands of the people, but like for real this time? I know some people think the hypocrisy of the signers of the declaration make extracting democracy from their hypocrisy impossible, but we’ve never actually tried just putting people in power who are actually willing to call the rigged system out for being rigged. We’ve never tried it because the people rigging the system in their favor have convinced us that calling it a rigged system would be “unpatriotic.”
Maybe they’re right and we’re actually the ones who need them to control our world for us, because we’re the ones incapable of greatness. But if we’re never even allowed the freedom to just acknowledge reality, and demand accountability for the people who manipulate and exploit the public for “our own good,” and definitely not because they’re so fucking terrified of the consequences of a society actually allowing all of it’s people equal footing, how can we really know it’s the fault of democracy? How do we know it’s not just the result of oligarchy masquerading itself as a democracy overly obsessed with nationalism in order to compensate and prove everything it does, including maintaining that heirarchy, is so unselfishly patriotic and for the greater good, that we aren’t allowed to even question it without being accused of terrorism?
At this rate I wouldn’t be surprised if the next character has horns and wears a cape.
Pretty sure he’s been the director and executive producer of every season, but he’s probably made a few cameos
Lol @ that photo. What a fucking loser.
He probably thinks he looks so cool.
