The tourist had spotted the rare big cat in the snow and had gotten to within 10 feet of it to take a picture.

Snow leopard attacks on humans are extremely rare due to the creature’s shy and elusive nature.

That sounds like a literal quote from “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.”

Just make a sitcom of the rest of her life – I mean, someone who thinks “there’s a large wild predatory cat, let me move much closer to it to get a photo” must have a lot of other interesting decisions in her life that we all want to see the outcomes of.

“Snow leopards are not aggressive towards humans. There has never been a verified snow leopard attack on a human being. Even if disturbed while feeding, a snow leopard is more likely to run away than try to defend the site.” - snowleopards.org

It must have been freaked out by the skier.

Based on my reading of the community rules, there’s nothing stating that only metaphorical leopards eating metaphorical faces are allowed.

The only way this article could be more fitting for this community is if there had been more than one snow leopard.

except its a tiger relative, snow leopards are closely related to tigers than to leopards, so a tiger ate your face.
