Looking for an active vegan recipe community, as the vegan recipe communities I’m finding are all pretty much dead, and the active vegan communities are more news focused.
Thanks!
I’ve found that vegan recipe threads get pretty good traction on hexbear. I don’t think there are enough vegans on the fediverse to actually have a whole comm that’s active enough to be worthwhile, but you can get quite a hopping thread going if you try.
I’d suggest posting to hexbear’s c/food with a little detail about what kinds of recipes you’re looking for. You’ll likely get good engagement, especially if you respond to people responding to you, to make the thread stay active longer!
btwMaybe post something to those “dead” communities. Often it’s just missing content, but people will engage with the occasional post, since the subscribers of that community (mostly) do still exist.
I think it’s a mistake to look for niche communities on Lemmy. There simply aren’t enough people to fill those communities and they wither and die. Many people have made that mistake, which is why it’s harder to grow Lemmy as a whole. My advice would be to just ask in a larger active community which is somewhat in the right direction. Then you have the best shot of reaching people that might have answers for you.
