A subscription-based phone.
Yea, no thanks.
My Pixel cost $120, it runs and does only what I want, no subscription required.
Yeah I saw that and closed the window.
Their support for signal on their previous phone, my main use case to get one, was a bit spotty as well. If it does not work reliably then the phone is useless to me.
I do not trust them to support the phone properly which is a real problem if you are expecting me to pay for said support on subscription.
Another Android fork like eOS or iodeOS, but this time, it’s different, we promise!
I don’t think so
Everyone dismissed this phone probably without reading the article. But, the concept, the UI and the ability to tweak the privacy according to your needs seems reasonable.
The protons apps loaded in the vault do not rely on firebase push notifications. Also, the subscription may sound absurd but maybe for someone who does not want to pay with data and wants a usable device it could be decent.
This project will be DOA. I’m sorry to say that but I hardly see anyone buying these.
