A little wordy but feels accurate.
Whisky is a hell of a drug.
So. Even if they were lawful combatants and we were at war (neither of which is true,) It is a war crime to issue an order of no quarter. (that is to say, ordering that no prisoners be taken, and that all enemies must be killed.)
it’s nazis shit through and through. They’re not lawful combatants, and we’re not at war. Even if they were smuggling, that doesn’t allow them to be blown out of the water with impunity. And they’ve not been demonstrated to be smuggling, never mind, smuggling into the US.
All right on the money. I’d only add that there’s the additional horror of refusing help to someone lost at sea. Modern legalities aside, sailors have always aided anyone in the water. It’s a basic human law.
And to illustrate that further, even the goddamn Kriegsmarine often chose to rescue survivors of attacks.
There’s very few people I would suggest deserve to have that horror inflicted on them. Trump. hegseth. Theil. Putin, etc. Personally, we should drop them off in the Sargassum seaweed patch. Existential horror mixed with the possibility of contracting flesh eating bacteria.
Add Bush and Obama, and we’ll talk. Or are you just picky about war criminals you don’t like?
first strike was illegal to, you twat
*Too. Not to.
Ehhhh, arguably illegal but American law gives a wide degree of latitude to the President’s ability to deal with threats. It’s slowly going through courts but given the Supreme Court’s deference to the exec…
Meanwhile, attacking those who are clearly out of the fight is unambigiously a war crime. There’s no executive cover, there’s no American law carve out, nothing. Which is why the White House, Hegseth and everyone else on the Right initially vehemently denied ever approving a second strike.
