I saw the first pic and was like “nice sculpture”, but then saw the scuba diver one and was like “holy shit, it’s huge 😮” definitely takes the cool factor way higher once I realized!
Anybody know if it’s intended to stay like this or allow a reef to settle/grow there?
It’s the first big sculpture Japan put in the water intentionally, but the Imperial Japanese Navy’s submarines sank in some cases to like 6,000 meters down and likely had some sculpted trinkets.
I think it’s beautiful
Why they make her pregnant?

It’s right there in the title … Ocean Gaia, Gaia the Greek goddess and mother of all life. It’s a piece about the role of the ocean as the source of all life. The womb is also filled with water, and in that sense we all come from, and are made of water
