I will always struggle to understand this “hate boner” that the writers had for genetic augmentation.
By sheer irony they made Star Fleet more bigoted by excluding augmented people.Most, if not all, of the TOS writers and producers had lived through WWII and the nazis’ “master race” thing. The Eugenics Wars as originally written were a pretty clear scifi extension of that.
