Honestly migrating from one language to another night actually be one of the best use cases for AI, if you don’t change the architecture much it should be doable especially if it’s a well tested codebase.

I haven’t tried with API yet. With local one it’s super quick though, it adds maybe a couple of seconds at most.
If you have a GPU and want to try it with local one there is a plugin for Godot and unity called “Nobody who” they have implemented the RAG approach out of the box with examples as well. So it wasn’t something I came up with.

What helped me in my project was a RAG implementation. So instead of trying to have all the information in the prompt, which becomes inconsistent if it becomes too big (especially when working on local llm), I can have quite a big knowledge base in a RAG. Then when being promoted it’s a two step process, first search the RAG for the best match in the knowledge base, then Feed that to the LLM to generate the answers. You could also store noteworthy stuff in the rag on the fly.

Because it’s difficult to fit to a world. You need a pretty good GPU of which a lot of the memory will be take up by the LLM running locally. That means you basically can not use it while also having other fancy graphics at the same time. So you would basically have a not so demanding looking game with high GPU requirements.
Also it’s quite difficult to steer the NPCs to be consistent. In my free time I’m working on a small project right now to have a game centered around llm NPCs, but it’s a lot of work to steer them to be consistent with the world you place them in. Because they always go with a “yes and” approach, so it’s easy to end up in a situation where they make up things that contradict the reality of the game.

Drinks jeah, food I would say partially only. I mean it’s good high quality food, but again it’s more like you have it because you need it. It’s not like you will have multiple things or food to share on the table at all times like in other cultures.

But the importance of food can be very different still. As a German I would say food is not a huge part of social culture. Like yes we eat together when we celebrate, but the food is usually just a necessity instead of the main focus

It’s like hard to draw a line as well. If I take a picture with my phone today of the city I live in and use it in a game, the phone applies some AI filters automatically.
I had the same experience with ordering vegetarian in eastern Europe. They asked me in 3 different restaurants “This has no meat, is that okay??” With a realy concerned look.

You could earn money by renting renting out your robot to let people power wash your driveway remotely

Right wing and authoritarian are two different scales. China for sure is môre authoritarian (so far), but overall the us probably has always been more right than China.

But you wouldn’t have to simulate the whole universe, only one brain. There is no way for you to know, if everything your brain experiences is caused by it actually happening, or just the neutrons being triggered in that way from outside.

There is smaller companies creating phones, if they would have the option of an mature open source os, I’m sure companies like fair phone or shift phone would make the switch.

Honestly (as a software engineer), we should have less of a privileged attitude towards being replaced. In the end, that’s what software engineers have been doing for years regarding other jobs.

But isn’t the investment still driven by consumption in the end? They invest in what makes money, but in the end things people are willing to spend money on make money.

Because they are still chasing a breakthrough. It’s one thing offering LLMs as a service or selling models, it’s another to develop new and better ones. It’s just a huge research cost. I’m pretty sure if they would stop research on new models and slightly increase their prices, they would be profitable. But they don’t want to fall behind.

The gpus will still be used for AI, just not as profitable

Also people speaking your language probably talking better about their own country.

Article says wind speeds are môre steady up there, wouldn’t that mean whatever you put up there is build to withstand those winds?

But the people that already own the game never have to pay that increase, that’s what I mean
The question is, if it has to. If it’s a nie he product this might be cheaper than inventing something
