Genetics do play a role and trying to pretend otherwise is disingenuous. I am visually not white, even if I don’t have a connection to my Andean heritage my looks are still impacted by them.

If someone asks me why I look like I do what do you expect me to tell them?

It’s always funny to me when someone mentions to me that they’re not white because they’re actually that random 5% that showed up in their DNA test.

Maybe us Southern Europeans are just used to have random percentages of DNA that we don’t consider our identity.

Through my Bulgarian side of the family I’m 13% Central Asian.

To me this just means that Americans are barely mixed despite being a country of immigrants, even if legal segregation doesn’t happen anymore Americans of different races don’t date outside their racial group.

If Americans were actually melting pot they wouldn’t pay that much attention to small percentages of random ethnicities.

Yeah ironically there’s a huge lack of knowledge about Native people in America. The amount of people who aren’t aware that “Latino” isn’t a race, us Latino people look a certain way because we’re mostly Native American. But for some reason white Americans don’t make the connection?

Cheetah are extremely anxious animals, most other felines are very “lazy” animals but cheetah are active. Their hunting strategy is an outlier in felines, they don’t stalk and surprise, they outrun their prey.

Another issue is that even tho they’re more tame than other cats including the Serval they still can pretty much kill you. Tamed cheetah don’t usually harm their owners but there have been catastrophic incidents with kids.

The thing is that it’s more likely that someone you know does something terrible to you than a stranger intruding your house… I know it’s sad but most crimes of rape and murder are done by family or friends.

Maybe that’s thing about podcasts because I’ve never seen the content creators glorify the killers. I think it’s because the Makeup + True crime content creators are women, we tend to be the victims of the cases regularly so it’s always narrated through the lives of the victims.

The comments are always full of shock and sympathy for the victims and also anecdotes. There’s a lot of complaining about the soft sentences for the criminals which are surprisingly commonly low.

Another common thing is criticism to the police for their ineptitude, in most of the cases they don’t it seriously.

You’re right, I’ve thought about it before, why do I get so entertained with this? But tbh it’s because I put myself in the place of the victim and think about what would I have done different.

But there are some cases, specially those involving vulnerable individuals like kids that I can’t watch. And I’m a person who doesn’t like kids at all 😂

I’ve been the “side party” for open relationships more than once. These men would always dump on me their relationship drama, it felt as if the open relationship was the announcement of the downfall of their relationship.
